Muslim Profiling

Everytime there is an attempted terrorist ploy, or one that has been successfully executed to claim the lives of innocent people, the perpetrators have recently always been Muslim males.

Yet after every such event, the Muslim communities all rally together and claim that profiling of Muslims is unjustified. But after every recent terrorist act, we then always read interviews in the media, where the perpetrators neighbours all say how each one '..was just a normal guy that loved playing football...'. That's the thing about terrorists. It could be absolutely anyone, and it always is 'the normal guy' you never see coming.

A quarter of the British Muslim population revealed in a survey that they saw the September London bus bombing as being justified, due to the UK's involvement in the war in Iraq. The loss of lives by innocent people? Because of the actions, which the majority didn't even condone, of a Government that isn't even a proportional representation of it's people?

I have been friends with Muslims during my years at College and University, and a few of them were even what i'd consider very good friends. I respected them, and i respected their devotion to their faith.

Not all muslims are terrorists. But all terorrists are Muslims.

So i think profiling Muslims is justified. Oh but it's easy for me, as a non Mulsim, to say that? Well it applies to me now too. Thanks to the most recent events where, reportedly, an attempt to bring down up to 20 mid-air flights heading to the US was prevented, we are now all being profiled just on the basis of being flight passengers.

But if you are innocent, there is no problem in the loss of a little convenience, if it helps prevent the loss of countless innocent lives.
